Fire Safety & Prevention
The NVFD encourages all residents to practice simple fire safety steps to help protect your home and family:
- Test smoke alarms monthly and replace batteries yearly
- Keep a fire extinguisher in the kitchen and know how to use it
- Have an evacuation plan and practice it with your household
- Avoid overloading electrical outlets and extension cords
- Never leave stoves, ovens, or candles unattended
For additional safety resources or to request community education materials, please contact the department through Town Hall.
Support the Fire Department
As a volunteer-based department, NVFD relies on community support. Donations help maintain equipment, purchase gear, and support firefighter training.
To donate, please contact Town Hall or speak with a volunteer firefighter.
