Minority and Women Business Enterprises (M/WBE) – Supplier Diversity

The Town of Noma is committed to supplier diversity in the performance of all contracts associated with federal and state funded projects.

For projects funded through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, the Town and its bidders/contractors are required to make good faith efforts to encourage the participation of minority-owned, women-owned, and small business enterprises in accordance with applicable laws.

Bidders and contractors must submit documentation demonstrating the affirmative steps taken to utilize certified minority and women-owned businesses in the work, including evidence that qualified firms have been solicited for subcontracting work and/or supplies as needed to complete the project.

Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Coordinator

In accordance with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), the Town of Noma does not discriminate against qualified individuals with disabilities in its services, programs, or activities.

Employment

The Town does not discriminate on the basis of disability in its hiring or employment practices and complies with all regulations under Title I of the ADA.

Effective Communication

Upon request, the Town will provide appropriate aids and services to ensure effective communication for qualified persons with disabilities, including sign language interpreters, Braille documents, and other accessible formats.

Modifications to Policies and Procedures

The Town will make reasonable modifications to policies and procedures to ensure equal access to programs and services. Service animals are welcome in Town facilities, even where pets are generally prohibited.

Anyone requiring an auxiliary aid, service, or policy modification should contact the ADA Coordinator as soon as possible, but no later than 48 hours before the scheduled event.

The ADA does not require the Town to take actions that would fundamentally alter the nature of its programs or impose an undue financial or administrative burden.

Complaints regarding accessibility should be directed to the ADA Coordinator listed above. The Town will not place a surcharge on individuals with disabilities to cover the cost of providing auxiliary aids or reasonable modifications.
